For a successful aquarium in the name of excellence

Towards the end of 1986 and after many years of great activity in the aquarium sector, the impulse was felt to propose something new in a sector which, at least in Italy, seems to be adopting known and in a certain sense calm techniques. because well known. The opportunity comes from meetings with a well-known German company that has already revolutionized the system of "thinking aquariums" in Germany. Let's talk about Dupla which in those years proposed the open aquarium, the percolating filter with a strong current flow in the water, intense lighting. In practice, the conditions of tropical rivers were brought into the aquarium. By applying some "simple" concepts certain successes would have been achieved. The challenge was too tempting to pass up. Pina Franceschelli and Lisa Franceschelli Cagimanolis took up the challenge and enthusiastically set up a very small company in the historic center of Bologna: ADI Acquaristica Diffusione and, shortly after, in 1989, they transformed the company into AQUARISTICA.

Both entrepreneurs are convinced that the Dupla road truly represents an innovative turning point. The field test is positive. The aquariums that are born with the new technology are truly different, healthy fish swimming in the current, lush plants under tropical lighting come out of the water and flourish. Very strong emotions that confirm the validity of the open road. From that day, from those early years, a long road has been covered, not always easy, but certainly worthy of being remembered: the first study trips, by bus, with the very first customers, guided visits to large public and private foreign aquariums (Bern , Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, etc.), seminars in the most beautiful Italian locations (Portofino, Garda, Naples, Taormina, Lake Trasimeno, etc. ), the first video cassette, the printing of books such as L'Acquario optimal, L' Optimal marine aquarium, My aquarium and others, the great Exhibitions (Botanical Garden of the University of Bologna, FlorShow, the still known "rendez.vous" around Italy with the greatest experts who meet shopkeepers and enthusiasts.

The commercial activity grows rapidly and in 1989 it becomes necessary to move to a larger and more suitable location to host, distribute on the market and offer after-sales assistance. The new headquarters has an area of about 7000 square meters which will soon be occupied by new prestigious brands which join and complete the first Dupla brand. A new challenge Years of intense work are spent to strengthen and consolidate the foundations that were established at the beginning, then the desire to say something new is felt again. The enthusiasm has not faded. Again something happens almost by accident. Talking to one of perhaps the most famous men in our sector, Kaspar Horst, we talk about waters and aquariums, aquariums and fish. Industrial development and demographic growth make water values increasingly unsuitable and what will happen to our aquariums? A new challenge opens up. Create a water like in the tropics where fish and plants live and reproduce easily. Sure, fish have always reproduced in aquariums, but not all. The challenge is therefore to be able to reproduce even the species that until then were decorative guests in aquariums but guests with no future. The leitmotif Research, experiments, long tests and finally the confirmation comes and is positive. It's what we wanted, something that would open up a new path without denying the roots of the one already travelled. In close collaboration with Mr. Kaspar Horst and Prof. Rolf Geisler recently created the NEW LINE line which later became AQ CLUB.

With the beginning of 2021, by precise will of the founders and heirs, the company passes to a new management.

Strengthened by the lessons learned, the new administrator and owner, Mr. Claudio Maria Ughi, relaunches the company on the market, acquiring new internationally renowned brands and putting ABA The Aquascaping Solution into production. The only range that combines natural hardscape with the most modern care of plants and aquarium fish.

The Aquaristica philosophy has always been oriented towards looking further into the future, to grasp new ideas and share them with true enthusiasts, without ever forgetting its own history.
