For more than 50 years, the JUWEL Aquarium company has stood for quality and innovation in aquarium construction and has set standards in design and technology. From the very beginning it developed the technology necessary for an aquarium to function well, thus managing to become the number 1 aquarium brand in Europe. In 1966 the Köhlmoos brothers develop the first aquarium with an aluminum frame and in 1968 they present a world premiere: the first aquarium with lid and integrated lighting. JUWEL Aquarium GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1969. In 1970 another revolution in aquarium construction: JUWEL produces the first aquarium with silicone bonding. In 1982 JUWEL develops its lid with waterproof lighting and is the first manufacturer of aquarium lamps to receive the GS mark from TÜV Rheinland for certified safety. In 1984 a small revolution in design and production. JUWEL develops the first aquarium without side profiles with upper and lower frames made of plastic. In 1998 JUWEL developed the first aquarium in Germany with a curved front panel. In 1999 he introduced electronic ballasts for lighting and thus became a pioneer of EU energy saving efforts. In 2000 JUWEL starts the automated production of aquariums. In 2018/19, for the second time in a row, JUWEL Aquarium was awarded the renowned Brand of the Year Award in the category "Animals" and once again takes its place among the big brands. Today JUWEL is constantly striving to improve the product range in order to be able to meet the needs of all customers in the future as well.

Aquaristica was the first official JUWEL distributor in Italy.
