CARBO PREMIUM - It is a fossil vegetable carbon, of the highest quality and yield, suitable for use in both fresh and marine water. Efficiency time of 3-4 months, it can be continued to use up to 8 months as an anaerobic bed of bacteria due to its truly unique characteristic of not receiving the retained substances and the total absence of phosphates. Produced according to the most advanced technologies for specific use in the aquarium, Carbo Premium is subjected to intensive washing which eliminates the dust content and develops an internal surface of 550,000 m2/litre; it does not require degassing and immediately has an excellent adsorbing capacity of dissolved substances with the advantage of the incidence of light which increases the assimilation capacity of plants and corals and the elimination of inhibiting substances. Field of use: complete and radical purification of aquarium water, elimination of drug and algaecide residues, elimination of chlorine from tap water, purification and filtering of rain or spring water, etc. Adsorbed substances: waste products, yellow substances, humic substances, urea, malodorous substances. Dissolved organic substances: pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, phenols. Intermediate products of chemical processes: nitrogen compounds, chlorinated organic compounds, hydrocarbons. In catalytic processes: reduction of oxidants, ozone, chlorine, potassium permanganate, acetic acid, hydrogen peroxide. Mechanical filtration: elimination of suspended material. Biological filtration: nitrification (transformation by oxidation of ammonium into nitrites and nitrates by particular bacteria), denitrification (decomposition of nitrates). 

DOSAGE: 100 ml treats up to 100 liters in fresh water and up to 50 liters in marine water (normal population).

USE: place the required quantity of Carbo Premium in a mesh bag and in a point of passage of the water in the tank or inside the filter. For the elimination of chlorine from tap water, prefer instead a slow flow of water. WARNINGS: The use of activated charcoal also removes useful nutrients; at the end of the treatment, perform a partial change of the water and add the useful nutrients, fertilizers, bio-conditioners, supplements, etc. When used continuously in a marine aquarium, it is recommended to change a third of the activated carbon approximately every two months, to conserve, for biological filtration, a part of the bacterial flora established in the activated carbon.
