It is a natural method to improve water quality. The bacteria that come into play break down excess food, waste and aquarium debris. They reduce excess nutrients favoring the general improvement of the aquatic environment. Under anaerobic conditions they decompose Nitrates and Phosphates. The conditions that favor denitrification are those that involve the establishment of a lack of oxygen, possible in the aquarium inside live rocks or in rocks with adequate porosity. We recommend ABA MARINE ROCK and, if the biological filter is present, ABA BIOROCK as filter material.
